get your new year started out on the right foot...or both feet!
By Mary Audia, Fundraising Manager, Team SeriousFun
After the holiday hustle and bustle winds down, we now have a chance to reflect on the past year and look forward to the New Year… setting new goals, improving ourselves and moving forward. If you haven’t started to think about your New Year’s Resolutions yet, here are three ideas from us to get you started.
1. Get in Shape. The #1 New Year’s Resolution in 2013 was to get in shape. I suspect it will be again in 2014. This year, get serious about your New Year’s Resolution by letting a goal-setting program like Team SeriousFun help you stay on course and motivated! You will get in shape while also positively impacting the lives of children living with serious illnesses around the globe. From the couch to the finish line, our professional coach and team of expert fundraisers and mentors will support you every step of the way in your journey to get in the best shape of your life, turning miles into smiles! http://bit.ly/1khIem2
2. Give Back. Another common New Year’s Resolution is to get more involved by volunteering for charity. As a volunteer at a SeriousFun Camp, you will have the opportunity to help enrich the lives of children living with serious illnesses, while also creating an unforgettable experience for yourself. Volunteering at camp will change your life – we promise! You can choose from weekend or week-long sessions in the spring, summer or fall! http://bit.ly/18RcD2I
3. As Paul would say, "Kick Back and Raise a Little Hell!" Whether it’s picking up a new hobby, spending more time with your family, or taking more time to stop and smell the roses, make every minute count!
Whatever resolutions you decide for yourself, my recommendation is to keep them simple and obtainable. Pick two or three, write them down and post them in a place where you will see them every day to stay motivated – on your refrigerator, in your office or in your car. Don’t think of twenty things to change in 2014; that is not a formula for success. But if you can achieve one or two goals, you’ll feel amazing!
